If you love the choral music of the Episcopal Church, in harmony with the seasons of the Church Year & in concord with the readings appointed for the day, please join us at 10:15 a.m. on Sundays. If you would like to ponder the readings, the choir music, and the poetry of our hymnody as you have the texts in front of you, and as you listen & participate, you would enjoy attending our Choral Eucharist.

Music for the Sunday 10:15 Choral Eucharist is under the direction of Choirmaster & Organist David Strouse. The choir, an amplified double quartet, is made up of professional singers & parishioners. At every 10:15 mass the choir provides three motets or anthems from a wide repertoire, from Renaissance polyphony sung a cappella, & Tudor music of the Elizabethan era, through the ensuing, equally glorious, ages of the Anglican choral tradition, into the 20th & even the present century, accompanied & unaccompanied.

The early history of the Church is reflected in the chanting of the Introit, Gradual, & Alleluia. The mass parts & psalm are sung in a more modern style by the choir & congregation on most Sundays. On special occasions the choir offers a choral setting for the ordinary of the mass: for example, the Fauré Requiem for the anniversary of September 11th, the Rutter Requiem for All Souls' Day, the Byrd Mass for 4 Voices, & the Saint Nicholas' Mass of Haydn for our Feast Day. At Christmas & during Advent the choir has presented seasonal music by, among others, Bach, Vivaldi, & Saint-Saëns.

Each Sunday we are treated to fine organ music, accompanying hymns, providing interludes & supporting anthems & service music, & presenting each Sunday a postlude from the standard organ repertoire of the very highest order. We hope to welcome you to our 10:15 Choral Eucharist soon.
