This Sunday, November 9, we celebrated at St. Nicholas of Myra the Dedication of the Basilica of St.
John Lateran, the cathedral of the Pope as Bishop of Rome. This basilica dates back to the early 4th
century and was solemnly dedicated in the year 333, after the end of the persecutions of the first
Christians. For centuries, the successors of St. Peter resided there, and to this day it remains the oldest and
most important church of the Roman tradition
Meaning of the Reading
The readings speak of the Temple as a visible sign of God’s presence among His people.
It is in the temple that the faithful gather to place before the Lord their needs, prayers, sufferings,
offerings, and hopes.
In the Gospel, Jesus reveals that the true Temple is His Body, and that after His death He would rebuild it
in three days; announcing the mystery of the Resurrection.
We too are called to care for our bodies and souls, living temples of the Holy Spirit.
Parish Life – Our Community Gathered
After Mass, we enjoyed a joyful moment of fellowship:
We had a wonderful community gathering to celebrate and honor our birthday celebrants.
The youth dance group Yancuic Tlitl offered beautiful dances that brightened our community lunch.
The parish expresses its deep gratitude to Flor, Francis, and Erica for their care, dedication, and generous
service. Their work with the youth, their joyful presence, and their attention to every detail make our
gatherings more beautiful and full of life. May God bless them abundantly for all they do with such love.
Youth Group – Second Saturday of Each Month
During the meeting, the youth reflected on:
The theme inspired by Isaiah 43:1:
“I have called you by your name.
”
recognizing their value and mission,growing in work and spiritual life,
appreciating one another,
building together a future of hope.
Last Saturday, after their formation meeting, the youth joined the Mass and were welcomed at the altar by
Father Michael — a beautiful gesture that encouraged them to feel like a living part of the Church.
With prayer, creativity, and joy, the group continues to grow.
Praised be Jesus Christ for all we experience in this community!

Este domingo 9 de noviembre celebramos en la parroquia San Nicholas of Myra la Dedicación de la
Basílica de San Juan de Letrán, la catedral del Papa como obispo de Roma. Esta basílica tiene su origen a
comienzos del siglo IV y fue solemnemente dedicada en el año 333, después del fin de las persecuciones
contra los primeros cristianos. Durante siglos, allí residieron los sucesores de San Pedro, y hasta hoy es la
iglesia más antigua e importante de la tradición romana.
Sentido de las Lecturas
Las lecturas de este día hablan del Templo como un signo visible de la presencia de Dios entre su pueblo.
En el templo los fieles presentan al Señor sus necesidades, oraciones, dolores, ofrendas y esperanzas.
En el Evangelio, Jesús revela que el verdadero Templo es Su Cuerpo, y que después de su muerte lo
reconstruiría en tres días, anunciando el misterio de la Resurrección
También nosotros somos llamados a cuidar de nuestro cuerpo y alma, templos vivos del Espíritu Santo.
Vida Parroquial – Comunidad Reunida
Después de la Misa, compartimos un alegre momento de convivencia:
Tuvimos una hermosa convivencia comunitaria para celebrar y honrar a nuestros cumpleañeros.
El grupo de danza juvenil Yancuic Tlitl ofreció hermosas danzas que animaron nuestro almuerzo
comunitario.
La parroquia expresa su profundo agradecimiento a Flor, Francis y Erica por su dedicación, entrega y
generoso servicio.
Su trabajo con los jóvenes, su alegre presencia y su atención a cada detalle hacen que nuestras reuniones
sean más hermosas y llenas de vida.
¡Que Dios los bendiga abundantemente por todo lo que hacen con tanto amor!
Grupo de Jóvenes – Segundo sábado de cada mes
Durante el encuentro, los jóvenes reflexionaron sobre:El tema inspirado en Isaías 43:1:
“Te he llamado por tu nombre.
”
Reconociendo su valor y misión,
creciendo en su vida laboral y espiritual,
apreciándose mutuamente
y construyendo juntos un futuro de esperanza.
Después de su reunión de formación, los jóvenes participaron en la Misa y fueron invitados al altar por el
Padre Michael, un hermoso gesto que los animó a sentirse parte viva de la Iglesia.
Con oración, creatividad y alegría, el grupo sigue creciendo.
