How Are YOU Called to Serve?

This past Sunday we reflected on the humility of heart which opens our eyes to see others: the poor, the struggling, the discouraged…and to offer them a place at the Lord’s table. For God loves those who serve generously.

The exalted are called to become humble, welcoming, gentle, and ready to serve with love. This is the mission of our Parish of St. Nicholas, in the heart of Encino: to welcome everyone without exception.

Our liturgy and our Mass are an invitation to participate in the Eucharist, so that we may live Christ and serve Christ in one another, with respect and love.

Within this mission, each ministry has an essential value:

Altar Servers: Ministry who serve at the altar and assist in the celebration.

Liturgical Preparation Team: who prepare and care for the sacred vessels and items used in the Holy Mass.

Offertory Team: who faithfully collect the offerings of the assembly.

Music Ministry which beautifies and enriches the liturgy; we now have four new volunteers in the choir.

Eucharistic Ministers who take Holy Communion to the sick after Mass, carrying out a very important mission.

In addition, our pastor is always available to visit the sick, offering confession, communion, and blessing.

Our Church must shine with the grace of the Lord Jesus both inside and outside its walls. That is why you too are called to collaborate! As a donor, altar server, lector, or by serving in any ministry of our parish.

Speak with our priests and find your place in the service of God.

Oh my goodness, I clicked on LIKE and it turned to a sad face. What did I do? So typical of me....but I liked Father Jose's blog. I may be over concerned.

Blessings
